New birth
Between days 10 and 14 after your baby has been born you will be visited by Health Visitor or Staff Nurse to carry out a new birth visit.
You will receive an appointment letter and possible a SMS reminding you of your appointment.
The purpose of this visit is to complete a full family assessment to identify and act on any needs identified and promote health and wellbeing.
Your baby will be weighed and a full head-to-toe check will be completed. Your Health Visitor will provide you with advice and their contact details should you require support.
The new birth visit is an ideal opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
