The use of face masks when visiting hospital at NELFT
People infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) can have very mild or no respiratory symptoms but can transmit the virus to others without being aware of it.
In line with recent recommendations from the World Health Organisation, we are introducing new measures at NELFT to keep visitors, patients, and staff safe.
From Monday, 15th June 2020 you will need to wear a face mask when you come to one of our hospitals as a visitor or an outpatient, however children and babies under the age of 3 do not need to wear a face mask.
This applies to our following buildings:
- Ainslie Rehabilitation Unit
- Goodmayes – Brookside, Sunflowers Court, Meadow Court and the Old Building
- King George Hospital – main hospital
- Brentwood Community Hospital – main hospital
- Queen’s Hospital – main hospital
- Woodland House – main hospital
- Whipps Cross – main hospital and Woodbury
Visiting our hospitals
In addition to wearing a face mask, please note that all visiting is currently by prior arrangement only – so please do arrange your visit with the relevant ward team before arriving at our hospitals.
Thank you for your support with this: it will help us to make sure we can safely accommodate the number of people in our buildings at all times, maintain social distancing in all our communal and ward areas, and provide the safest possible care.
