Supporting patient experience through the NELFT NHS Charity
The NELFT NHS Charity (previously known as The Health Way Foundation) funds projects that improve service user environments, support patient activities and enhance staff wellbeing. It also provides non-essential equipment to ensure that patients can access the highest quality of care when they need it most.
In the past financial year (2023/24), the charity raised over £300,000 towards several initiatives for patients, local communities and staff. Recent examples include the funding of a sensory room for the Titian Ward in Goodmayes Hospital, and an outdoor space those using the prosthetics service in Mayflower Hospital.
The NELFT NHS Charity also offers Christmas presents to all patients spending the holidays in a ward across London, Essex, and Kent.
Dr Mohit Venkataram, Deputy CEO and Executive Lead for the NELFT NHS Charity, said:
“We are immensely grateful to our supporters, whose generosity has made it possible to fund projects that go beyond essential care. We will continue to work with our volunteers, fundraisers, staff and partners to achieve more for our patients.”
