NELFT celebrates first ever Thank You Week

Today marks the first day of NELFT’s very first Thank You Week, which will run between the 21st – 27th September 2020.

This week is about celebrating and thanking all our staff and volunteers from across the Trust for their hard work and dedication during the Covid-19 pandemic and to provide colleagues with the opportunity to thank and celebrate each other for everything they've done during this time.

Our Chief Executive, Professor Oliver Shanley OBE said: "As Chief Executive, I feel so incredibly proud to work alongside you all, you've simply been amazing. We thought about what we could do as a small token of our thanks and appreciation, and we thought about Thank You Week.

"This is an opportunity to recognise the amazing things you've done and perhaps look at your colleagues and offer your thanks and gratitude for what they've done."

In March 2020 we, alongside our NHS colleagues across the country, were faced with an unprecedented challenge. We had to make huge changes to our services, our care and our workforce in a matter of hours, days and weeks.

Through it all, our staff and volunteers worked tirelessly in challenging and worrying circumstances to ensure we could still safely care for our patients and support each other in the response to COVID-19.

Our first Thank You Week will be seven days of showing our appreciation to them for their resilience, resolve and dedication during this time. Each member of staff will receive a token of appreciation from the Trust and a number of Wellbeing sessions will take place throughout the week.
