NELFT intergenerational initiative featured in the Guardian

An intergenerational project at Downshall primary school in Ilford has won a dementia award for ‘Outstanding Dementia Care Innovation'. This project which has been running for over two years, brings together older adults and young children to improve the quality of life and opportunities for both. The project is a collaboration between NELFT's Redbridge Older Adults Mental Health Team, Ian Bennett, the headteacher of Downshall Primary School, Maria Zatat, head of lower years as well as the staff at Downshall Primary, Age UK Barking, Havering and Redbridge and London Borough of Redbridge.
