Sue Lees, a Non-Executive Director, is taking on the role of Vice Chair of the NELFT board in January 2024.

Sue, who has been with NELFT since 2019, is also a Non-Executive Director at the Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) and East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT).

Sue is a qualified chartered accountant with more than 30 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors, including periods working within the NHS and local government. She has led large capital programmes, including the delivery of several new healthcare facilities within Barking, Dagenham, Havering, and Brentwood, as well as leading several back-office services in local government, using information technology.

In her new role of Vice Chair, Sue will continue to focus on developing and delivering work across the collaboratives and is ready to face the challenges and opportunities NELFT faces across the different communities.

Sue said:

“I am delighted to be appointed as Vice Chair, having served as a non-executive director for the last four years. I am deeply committed to the work we do, and to NELFT playing its full part in the healthcare system that serves the citizens of North East London. I very much look forward to working with our governors, staff, partners, and patients as we continue our journey in NELFT.”
