NELFT has appointed Paul Calaminus as our new substantive Chief Executive. Paul is expected to join the Trust in the summer. He is currently the Chief Executive of east London NHS Foundation Trust.

Eileen Taylor, NELFT Chair, said

“I am pleased Paul is joining us as our chief executive. With his experience working within the north east London system and leading a mental health and community services trust, he is well placed to support NELFT as we continue our journey to deliver the best care by the best people across north east London, Essex and Kent.

On behalf of the Board and wider organisation, I would like to thank Jacqui Van Rossum who has been our Acting Chief Executive for 18 months. I would also like to thank colleagues, Governors, patients and stakeholders who have been part of the recruitment process.”

Paul said,

“I am delighted to be joining the Trust as Chief Executive and look forward to working with you all and our partners to deliver the best outcomes for local people.”

Zina Etheridge, Chief Executive Officer of North East London Integrated Care Board (NHS North East London) said,

“Paul’s appointment is great news for north east London. It will further strengthen how we work together collaboratively to improve the health and wellbeing of local people. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Paul as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.”

Anthony McKeever, Chief Executive Officer of Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (NHS Mid and South Essex) said:

“I look forward to welcoming Paul to be part of the mid and south Essex partnership family.  Paul brings with him a track record of leading an organisation that delivers outstanding services and his approach to connecting communities to deliver real improvements aligns closely with our own ambitions.

“I would also like to take a moment to express our gratitude and appreciation to acting CEO Jacqui Van Rossum for her passion, dedication, and strategic vision which have been instrumental in shaping our system’s work, in particular with regard to children and young people.”

We are in the process of finalising the details but Paul is expected to join the Trust in the summer. Jacqui will continue as Acting Chief Executive until Paul joins.
