The Havering Volunteer Centre celebrated volunteer Shweta reaching 100 hours of volunteering at the New St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.
Shweta was presented with a certificate and a 100 hours pin badge to honour her commitment to the hub. Shweta shared what volunteering meant to her:
“This is my first ever experience as a volunteer and I joined because I love to learn and help people in the community. I am really enjoying my time at St George’s, I have learnt so many new skills and my confidence level is going up and up.
“I feel very honoured to be given this award and thank everyone at Havering Volunteer Centre for giving me this opportunity.”
Shweta volunteers for 12 hours a week at St George’s showing patients to where they need to be, making sure they have a positive experience, chatting to visitors and helping them access community-based services via the Joy App.
Shelley Hart, CEO of Havering Volunteer Centre who presented Shweta with her award said:
“For many years now, I have been sharing how vital volunteers are to the Havering Community. They have the time, the heart and the passion to help and assist in making Havering a better community to be a part of.
“The volunteers at St George’s take the time to make sure everyone feels welcomed and at the heart of the service they deserve.
“We hope to continue to work in partnership with the NHS and local authority to deliver the very best volunteering service at St Georges and wider into the community.”
