David Bowen, one of our non-executive directors, will be leaving the Trust on Friday (30 June) after deciding to step down from his position earlier in the year.

David joined NELFT as a non-executive director (NED) back in 2018 and, as well as being a member of the board, had a place on the Finance and Investment Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, People and Culture Committee, and the Remuneration Committee. David also chaired the Charitable Funds Committee and was a main driving force in reinvigorating NELFT’s charity by relaunching it as The Heath Way Foundation – something he describes as his favourite achievement.

As a NED, David always challenged NELFT’s leadership by providing independent and impartial perspectives to ensure the Trust continuously improved as an organisation. David was a highly valued member of the board and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

The Trust has already prepared for David’s departure and news on our new NEDs will be announced shortly.
