Care pathway lead shares mindfulness information in new article

Georgina Privett, a care pathway lead for our Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Service (EWMHS) learning disabilities team in Chelmsford, has had an article published in the national newspaper for prisoners and detainees, Inside Time.

Entitled 'Breathe to ease the mind', Georgina introduces and highlights mindfulness as a practice and tool that can be applied anywhere. It draws upon science to explain common physical reactions of stress to help our understanding of how it manifests, as well as how to use relaxation as a strategy to reduce the impact.

In the article, Georgina says: “Having the knowledge of what happens to you and why, and being mindful of our physical and emotional reactions, can help us feel and be more in control.”
