The Neurology specialist nursing service, is part of the Waltham Forest adult community health services, supporting people over the age of 18 living with Parkinson’s or Multiple Sclerosis. The service helps patients avoid unnecessary hospital admissions and outpatient appointments. Patients are seen either at nurse-led clinics or in their home environment as required.

The neurology nurse specialist service provides:

• medication review, advice, and information
• advice and information on conditions
• the opportunity to identify concerns with patients and their carers and discuss ways of managing them
• liaison between neurologist, GP and geriatrician regarding all aspects of care
• liaise with, and facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals, if indicated / required.
