Outpatient service - Havering
The outpatients service is for patients aged 60 and over, providing holistic falls risk assessments, falls prevention, physiotherapy and occupational therapy with the options of home visits.
The service covers:
- stroke management or post stroke follow-up
- general medicine, including movement disorder
Referrals for X-rays, dexa scans and MRI scans can be arranged via the service. The service offers a full multi-disciplinary and holistic assessment of people who have fallen or those who have a high risk of falling.
The service helps reduce the amount of falls patients have to help avoid unnecessary hospital admissions by restoring confidence. Patients are also given coping mechanisms to enable them to be more independent in the community.
