A few words from Krystal:

The Facilitator programme was amazing and really helped me understand what I needed to do for this project. It's the team on the ground that really helped me achieve this success, I re-assessed the data a couple of weeks ago and was amazed we were able to sustain the change. I celebrated with the team but now we will celebrate even more that I've won, so thank you!

Collaborative Participation:

We also had teams from our Royal College of Psychiatrists Demand, Capacity and Flow collaborative present their projects. You can find out more about the projects which emerged from this collaborative, here: Royal College of Psychiatrists: Demand, Capacity and Flow Quality Improvement Collaborative | NELFT NHS Foundation Trust

Testimonial:

Sarah Thornby, Digital Pathway Lead – CYPMHS Kent, shared her reflections from the day:

Yesterday I attended NELFT's Quality Improvement awards as a nominee for my (project teams) work on improving Routine Outcome Measures for our patients in Children’s Mental Health Services. Digital features as a thread throughout this activity and it has been a fantastic opportunity to lead the activity and co-produce change ideas and solutions with colleagues across the Trust.
It was great to hear of all the other QI activity happening too, including other projects in my locality of Kent and Medway. Some fantastic co-production and collaboration with patients happening with our Essex colleagues too. I (we) didn’t win but I think the winner was incredibly well deserved and making change in an area where patients feel immediate benefits.

I felt seen, valued and like I have made a significant contribution in the efforts I, and the project team, have made in the last 2 years. So much added value in QI activity. Big shout out to my colleagues in QI and Performance and to all the other professionals out there championing and leading QI. It matters when organisations make space for recognition and sharing success and learning.

At NELFT, we believe that by learning from our past experiences, involving users of service and staff to improve our current practices, and striving for better outcomes, we can significantly enhance the quality of care we provide. By sharing your projects and success stories, using the NELFT QI method, you not only celebrate your achievements but also inspire others to try and use the same method to make changes in their own teams.
