Two NELFT initiatives have been nominated for the 2025 HSJ Digital Awards, a recognition of its dedication to pioneering digital solutions that are shaping the future of healthcare.
An Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) implementation in Kent has been shortlisted for the Improving Medicine Management and Pharmacy through Digital category. This solution across Kent community Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) services has enhanced prescription processes and accessibility. The project has improved patient and clinician experience, reduced administrative burdens, and supported sustainability. The initiative has positively impacted patient care, reduced health inequalities, and minimised carbon footprint.
A Patient Experience Application (PEA) at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub has also been shortlisted in the Improving Back-Office Efficiencies through Digital category. This project was developed to allow appointments to feed from multiple clinical systems into a single check in kiosk at the hub. Patients can check in on arrival and be called via the PEA when ready to be seen. Notifications are sent via text message in addition to visual and audio prompts on TV screens. This has allowed patients to move around the site freely using the facilities, whilst also relieving pressures on reception and improving the flow of the building.
The winners will be revealed at the HSJ Digital Awards ceremony on 26 June 2025, a night dedicated to celebrating the brightest minds and most impactful projects in digital health.
