NELFT Trust Board
NELFT NHS Foundation Trust Board of Directors is responsible for the overall strategic direction of Trust and ensures that NELFT continues to achieve its strategic objectives while upholding the Trust’s values. The Trust Board, led by the Chair comprises of executive and non-executive directors.
The executive directors are senior full-time employees of the Trust and they are responsible for the day-to-day running of the Trust. The non-executive directors have a wide range of skill, expertise and experiences and together with the executive directors ensure a robust consideration of the Trust’s performance.
Our Chair is Eileen Taylor who is a non-executive director serving as the joint Chair of NELFT and East London NHS Foundation Trust.
The Chief Executive Officer is Paul Calaminus.

Executive Chief Nursing Officer/ Executive Director AHP & Psychological Professions
Wellington was appointed Executive Chief Nursing Officer/Executive Director AHP & Psychological Professions at North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) in July 2021. He is responsible for the nursing and AHP workforce and leads on the quality, safety and patient experience agenda for the Trust.
He studied Mental Health Nursing at South Bank University (2001-2004), and also holds an Executive Masters in Public Administration, also from South Bank University (2013-2016). In 2018, Wellington was proud to be invited to No.10 by Prime Minister Theresa May, to talk about the work he had led in NELFT on inclusion in the workforce and his support for the BME agenda.
In 2020, Wellington made the HSJ near miss for the top 50 most influential BME leaders.
He has worked for NELFT all his career since 2001 when he was a student nurse apart from 18 months when he was a Managing Director. NELFT is his family.
