Why work with librarians and knowledge specialists?

All NELFT staff and students on placement are entitled to use NELFT’s Library Spaces at CEME, Goodmayes and the Jane Atkinson Centre and our electronic resources 

NELFT staff based in Essex can also access some library facilities (including study space) and services (including book loans) from our colleagues at local NHS libraries (see Library and knowledge services for details).

We also provide services to external subscribers (currently public health teams in Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, Thurrock, and Suffolk).

Services

• Evidence searching – our expert staff carry out advanced searches for you, using healthcare databases and / or high quality internet resources as appropriate. Click here to request a search.
• Keeping up to date – our KnowledgeShare updates service provides you with personalised alerts on topics of your choice.  Click to complete the NELFT Library current awareness registration form
• Training - we provide training to help you use your NHS OpenAthens resources, find high quality evidence, do critical appraisal and increase your health literacy awareness
• Document supply - we can order copies of books and articles from other libraries. Most article requests are supplied same or next working day. Just email the references to us at library@nelft.nhs.uk and we’ll be in touch
• Postal loans – we can post books out to your site or your home address. Just email the references to us at library@nelft.nhs.uk and we’ll be in touch
