E-journals
All NHS OpenAthens account holders have full text access to thousands of journals online.
NELFT staff on a NELFT networked computer will be able to access most of our e-journals without having to log in. Public health staff and NELFT staff accessing from home or elsewhere may need to log in to OpenAthens.
To access journals via BrowZine
- Go to browzine.com click the red “Choose library” button
- Start typing and select “North East London NHS Foundation Trust” as your library (public health staff select “Public health teams in Northeast London, Suffolk, & Thurrock”) – you will only need to do this once.
- Search for journals by title and subject and navigate to your article.
You may have to click on another “Login via OpenAthens” button / link before you get to the full text PDF of your journal article.

Contrary to popular belief, everything is not available on the internet.
If you want a copy of an article that is not available full text online we can order a copy from another library. Most article requests are supplied same or next working day. Just email the references to us at library@nelft.nhs.uk and we’ll be in touch.

BatesVisual guide to physical examination : This is the online version of the popular book ' Bates' Guide to physical examination and history taking '. The site features more than 8 hours of video content, a range of patient types and is accessible from any location or device with your NELFT OpenAthens login details.
BioDigital : The most complete, scientifically accurate, interactive 3D body ever assembled enabling you to visualise anatomy, health conditions, and treatments.
PsychTherapy video database (Google Chrome is recommended for the best experience) : PsycTHERAPY is a collection of over 500 videos to support clinical and counselling psychology education. The videos cover topics including addiction anxiety, phobias, relationship issues and depression as well as common obstacles faced during therapy sessions. Videos are accompanied by transcripts, making it easy to search interactions within demonstrations.

BNF and BNFc are freely available online at https://bnf.nice.org.uk/ and as a mobile app.

Books
You can search all our print books and e-books online at https://nelftlks.koha-ptfs.co.uk/ along with books held by other NHS libraries across London.
To borrow books, games and devices register at Create an account - select “CEME Library” as your home library.
If you work for NELFT or one of our Public Health teams, we can post our books to your site. Just email the references to us at library@nelft.nhs.uk and we’ll be in touch.
Please note that we can’t post other libraries’ books out to you. If you borrow a book from another library you will need to come to the main Library at CEME to collect it.
